Quality at esurance is a shared responsibility and this role is where it all comes together. As QA Automation Lead, you'll own the automation foundation that our cross-functional product squads build on: setting the standards, defining what good looks like, and staying hands-on enough to make it real. You'll split your time roughly 70/30 between building and governing — close enough to the code to stay credible, and strategic enough to move the whole team forward. If you want a role where your technical decisions ripple across every product we ship, this is it.
This Poland-based role offers remote flexibility in Poland only, and we value in-person collaboration. Our team meets in Poland for at least one week each quarter, so we ask all applicants to be located in Poland. This is not a globally remote role - Poland residency is required. The contract form is Umowa o Pracę (brutto).QA Automation Lead

Job profile
What you will be responsible for
- Define and establish a unified automation framework as the source of truth across all product teams and business services — setting the standard everyone builds to.
- Set, measure, and align automation KPIs (coverage, stability, execution time) with leadership and department heads, backed by accessible dashboards and clear reporting.
- Translate requirements into automated test strategies, test case designs, and scalable architectures and actively implement them, not just specify them.
- Govern and continuously refine test automation standards and integration practices across the full development lifecycle.
- Establish transparency via broadly accessible dashboards & reportings
- Execute and oversee test activities including release validation and sign-off, with automated quality checks as the backbone.
- Contribute to framework refactoring and optimisation, raising the bar on test quality across teams.
- Mentor and guide QA Automation Engineers on tooling, patterns, and quality practices — enabling them to work at their best.
What makes you a match
The essentials:
- A strong track record (8+ years) designing and owning test automation frameworks in a modern, microservice environment e.g. Automation maturity, KPI trends (E2E coverage)
- Experience defining QA standards, governance practices, and KPIs across multiple teams or workstreams.
- The ability to balance hands-on technical delivery with cross-team alignment and leadership-level reporting.
Great to have:
- Experience building automation KPI dashboards and presenting quality metrics to management.
- Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD and integrating automated tests into the development pipeline.
- Background working in agile, distributed product organisations — ideally in a scale-up or InsurTech context.
What sets you apart as a person:
- You lead by doing — equally comfortable deep in code and articulating quality strategy to leadership.
- You build trust across teams through consistent standards, clear communication, and results that are visible to everyone.
What you can expect
- Flexible working hours and a genuine hybrid/remote setup — we trust you to work where you do your best thinking.
- Flat hierarchy with no layers between your ideas and their impact.
- A modern, evolving tech stack with real influence over tooling and architecture decisions.
- Professional development to keep growing your craft.
- An international, distributed team that values technical leadership and diverse perspectives.
